G’n'R Out West

Well, we've been taking pictures since the first month and although I'm now showing, the camera just didn't seem to do my belly justice.  My friend Alison told me that if I started wearing maternity clothes then it would be much more obvious.  Well, I've officially started the Belly Gallery with a picture in my first maternity outfit (just click on the tab at the top of the page to see it).  Greg and I had a formalish dinner thing we had to attend and I had to buy a new dress for it.  I got it at a maternity store and I think it is clear from the picture that it definitely shows off my growing belly!  I promise to post more pictures in the weeks to come!

We just had our 24 week check up and everything is going great. My belly is measuring exactly where it should be. It is always nice to have the checkups, hear the baby’s heartbeat and get the official nod that things are progressing nicely.

The baby has been really active lately. For a while there it seemed like his most active time was when I was driving. I kept telling him that driving time is quiet sleeping time and it didn’t seem like he was listening. But in the last week I haven’t noticed him moving at all while we are driving…so hopefully he took my hint!

On Saturday night I woke up to him moving around and he kept me up for almost an hour. I’m not sure what exactly was going on in there but there was some major repositioning. It was really fun for me. I thought about waking up Greg…but I wasn’t sure that at 4 am he’d be able to appreciate it like I was so I left him be. Sometimes I wonder what the baby is thinking when he moves so much. Is he just having a stretch or have I squished him and he’s all grumpy and frustrated with me? I guess I’ll never know.

The last few weeks I’ve been having some problems with my sciatic nerve. I’ve started swimming and I think that might be helping so I’m going to keep going. The pain isn’t really that bad - but I’m nervous it will get worse if I’m not careful.

A few people have been requesting some belly shots. I am definitely showing - but the camera just doesn’t quite do it justice yet. As soon as it seems to I will certainly post a picture!

Last night we actually saw my belly move for the first time. It was awesome. We only saw it two times - but it was special none the less. I think we might have seen it move more - but the moving made me laugh and I think the laughing may have rocked the baby back to sleep. Our baby is the best.
