Well, the big news of last week is that Greg and I FINALLY got approval to move to the big city.  So we are madly trying to work through all the company paper work so we can sell our house and buy a new one!

Tomorrow we have our first house appraiser coming (all part of the process) and on Friday we will be on a plane to the city for a week of house hunting/day care finding/doctor searching…and whatever else we figure we need to do.

It is all feeling a little overwhelming - but to be honest this big change sure will make the final 3 months just fly by.  Things have been great on the baby front this week.  I had a bit of a hard time for about a week and I was starting to get a bit concerned that the last three months were going to be very difficult.  But the baby did some major realigning and I've been feeling great for a whole week now.  I'll take every day of feeling great that I can get (I know I've been really lucky so far).  I am certainly feeling much bigger these days and I definitly have that pregant woman gait!

We are scheduled to start work after the July 1st weekend.  We are hoping to get into a house as soon as possible so we can start getting ready for the baby.  But we'll see what happens.  Hopefully I'll have some great house hunting news on my next post.

Wish us luck!

Our baby had his first moments in the spotlight this weekend.  I decided to share the moment with our friends and family since it provided so much entertainment to our work colleagues.

On Saturday night we went to Lobster Bash which is an annual dinner put on by our company.  They fly in lobster and everybody eats lots and drinks lots.  Greg was a happy man that night because lobster and beer are two of his favorite things.  I, on the other hand, go to visit with friends, as lobster and beer are far from my two favorite things!

Anyway, they had a band at the event.  They were a pretty good band and they played lots of popular music from the 50s onto the 80s all in costume.  They are big on audience participation - which is fine and dandy as long as I am not the audience member participating.  When Elvis was on he came down into the audience to find an unsuspecting victim…and he chose me.  I was dragged up on stage against my will.  After a few minutes of being questioned about who I was and who I was there with (I almost forgot my own name…let alone my husband's I was so nervous) he taught me a few critical dance moves and then the fun began.

He sung 'Heartbreak Hotel' while I performed the moves he'd taught me.  I only missed a cue once (and wasn't he kind enough to point that out to everybody and then start the song again for me!).  I was more embarrassed then I've ever been in my life.  My only consolation is that I was not up there alone as our adorable little baby was tucked away nicely under my shirt!

It was obvious that the crowd got a good laugh out of the whole episode so I guess it was all worthwhile in the end.  I got lots of compliments on my 'moves' throughout the night…and all the next day as I went about my Sunday errands (you bump into way too many people in small towns on Sunday!).

Today at work, both Greg and I were teased by our co-workers about my moment of fame.

I don't have any pictures yet - but I know a few people were kind enough to capture the moment for me.  When I get the pictures I will post one for your viewing pleasure.  I'm told my face was a perfect colour match to my bright red shirt - so I suspect we'll all get a good laugh from it.

I will not be surprised if our baby is unable to listen to Elvis…as I suspect some of the trauma I was experiencing that night would have been passed onto him.
